Hi Bette! Congratulations on getting your personal website up and running. I have enjoyed reading your ‘step’ poem each year as I walk by your home. And, now I have a place to view all the old poems. The ‘goodbye’ poem for Lee was great. What a good idea to get neighbors to contribute their thoughts so you could incorporate some personal highlights in the poem. Enjoy your rhyming time, may the sun continue to shine on you, and don’t foget to let some sand get between your toes. Carol

Bette, I have always loved seeing your poems on the stairs, and love being able to see tham all on your web site! You are a talented poet, and a wonderful seaside philosopher. Thank you for sharing your art in this unique way! Susan Palmer (East Brunswick resident, but Manasquan resident in my heart)

Your steps are among my very favorite memories of Manasquan. In the years that we rented there, a visit to your steps was as important as the time spent on the beach and the walks on the boardwalk. Amy Fetzer

  19. I am twelve years old and in the summer of 2004 rented the green house next to Bette Worth’s house. My family currently owns a house further down on first avenue and I love walking by Bette’s house on the way to Carlson’s Corner or the inlet and reading her steps. I’ve admired them for many years. I think it is great that you created Poems of Worth.com. Caroline A.

  20. BETTY,

A VERY HAPPY, HEALTHY, SAFE & FUN HOLIDAY SEASON, & NEW YEAR’S, TO YOU AND EVERYONE WHO YOU CARE ABOUT AND LOVE.

OUR BEST WISHES & FOR MUCH WARMER WEATHER,

COUSIN DAVID, BETH, HANNAH & JOSHUA (PART OF THE “FUN HOUSE” CREW).

  22. Dana Worth

Your updated website is amazing! I got totally hooked. I really love it. I just know Bette June Worth will be a famous name one of these days!

  23. Friend

    Fun site!!

  24. I see your mother in you Bette
    An astonishing woman was she.
    Always musing, ever caring,
    Joyful songs of family faring.
As you continue your Poems of Worth,
Thank you for your gift of mirth.

I think this my first attempt at a pathetic piece of poetry. Somewhere in my memories, Erma Dorrer, my eighth grade teacher at Manasquan Elementary School, insisted I write a poem about our country and actually found it acceptable. That was pretty respectable coming from her as she was a very accomplished woman. This is an address if you would like to read an oral history about her. http://www.visitmonmouth.com/oralhistory/bios/DorrerErma.htm

Also, my Website is one of many that I maintain, but this is a gift to the church so I feel I can say it is mine.

Thanks Bette June……..your Website is lovely and I will visit it often. My friend also enjoys your whimsy, but she will not, unfortunately, sign your guestbook. Please keep this Website flowing, everyone needs a little joy in their life and you are providing just that.
    (((Hugs))) Marion Taylor

I could never be a poet,
but to be from Manasquan is to know it.
    Such really great memories
    bring tears to our revories.
I’ll never forget the days and the nights
that we all spent in the lights.

    My attempt.

    Doug H.

    Luv ya girl! !
